We are Kali Travels and Adventures, a tour operator based in Puerto Natales, founded by Martin Aylwin and Paula Hernández. We specialise in wildlife watching, puma tracking, photography and trekking in Torres del Paine and its surroundings, with local guides and private groups. Kali was born because the traditional way of running tours did not reflect how we see and feel Patagonia: trips without a rigid schedule or the pressure of a large group. Our services are registered with and inspected by Sernatur, Chile's National Tourism Service.

Who we are
A local team that lives Patagonia year-round
Kali grew naturally out of the professional and personal path of its founders. After years working in Patagonia, they felt the traditional way of running tours did not reflect how they see and feel this land. Kali is for the traveller and explorer who wants to go further: to understand Patagonia in depth, at a contemplative pace.
Over the last three years we have worked with independent travellers and agencies from all over the world, including the United States, Australia, India and Russia. Last season more than 800 people trusted us to plan their Patagonia trip or to join one of our wildlife and photography tours.
- Martin Aylwin, co-founder. Tourism business management engineer and expert local guide for ten years, both in the field and in operations. Landscape and wildlife photographer.
- Paula Hernández, co-founder. Business engineer with a master's degree in hospitality and tourism.
- Our team: more than 20 people work at Kali during the summer season: guides, drivers, reservations and administration.
How we work
- Small private groups: a vehicle for up to 4 guests and a bilingual guide.
- Respectful wildlife viewing: we track pumas in the northern and eastern sectors of the park and nearby areas, following ethical viewing practices that put the animal's wellbeing first. Sightings can never be guaranteed; patience and a trained eye make the difference.
- A contemplative pace: photo stops, environmental interpretation and time to simply look.
- Local knowledge: we live here year-round; the best puma season runs from March to October.
